Ruger 10/22 Viton Bolt Buffer Pins – 2 Pack

Replace the factory-style bolt buffer in your Ruger 10/22 with a quieter, impact-absorbing alternative from Pete's Pillars. This two-pack combines durable Viton sleeves with stainless steel center pins to help cushion the rearward movement of the bolt during cycling.

The two-pack is a practical option for maintaining multiple Ruger 10/22 rifles or keeping a spare buffer on hand for future service.

Built for the Ruger 10/22 Action

The Ruger 10/22 uses a simple blowback action, and the bolt buffer sits at the rear of the receiver where it helps stop rearward bolt travel. Replacing the rigid factory-style buffer with a resilient Viton buffer can reduce the sharp mechanical impact and noise generated during cycling.

  • Helps cushion bolt impact during normal cycling.
  • Reduces mechanical action noise compared with a rigid factory-style buffer.
  • Viton construction provides strong resistance to many commonly encountered oils, cleaners and solvents.
  • Stainless steel center pin provides a durable internal support.
  • Useful for suppressed Ruger 10/22 rifles where mechanical action noise may be more noticeable.
  • Made in the USA using USA-sourced components.

Ruger 10/22 Compatibility

Designed as a replacement for the standard Ruger 10/22 bolt buffer and Ruger B46-style buffer location. These buffers are also compatible with many aftermarket 10/22-pattern receivers using the standard buffer arrangement, including many KIDD and Volquartsen configurations.

Aftermarket receiver dimensions can vary, so slight differences in installed fit are normal.

Simple Two-Piece Installation

Each buffer consists of a Viton outer sleeve and a separate stainless steel center pin. The components are supplied unassembled to make installation through the receiver easier.

  1. Confirm that the firearm is completely unloaded.
  2. Remove the barreled action from the stock according to the firearm manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Remove the existing Ruger 10/22 bolt buffer.
  4. Start the stainless steel pin approximately halfway into the Viton sleeve.
  5. Position the sleeve through the receiver's bolt-buffer openings.
  6. Push the stainless steel center pin fully through the installed Viton sleeve.
  7. Reassemble the firearm and verify proper function before use.

The stainless steel center pin is designed to fit closely inside the Viton sleeve after installation.

What's Included

  • 2 Viton bolt buffer sleeves
  • 2 stainless steel center pins

One complete sleeve and stainless pin assembly creates one Ruger 10/22 bolt buffer.

Fit & Manufacturing Tolerances

Ruger and aftermarket receivers can vary slightly in dimensions, and Viton material also has normal manufacturing tolerances. As a result, an installed buffer may fit slightly tighter or looser from one receiver to another, and the end of the buffer may not appear perfectly flush in every action. These small dimensional differences do not affect its intended function.

Not intended for magnum-caliber applications.
