Rifle Scopes

Your scope is how you see the shot, and how you correct the next one. Clear glass, a reticle that fits your shooting and turrets that track are what turn a capable rifle into a consistent one. As an authorized dealer for Leupold, Burris and Athlon Optics, we carry rifle scopes for precision, PRS, rimfire and hunting, plus the rails and rings to mount them.

Good Glass Starts at the Rail

The best scope in the world will not hold zero on a mount that shifts. Building on a CZ 457? Our Pete's Pillars dovetail to Picatinny rails clamp the factory dovetail and give your rings a rigid, full-length surface, in 0, 15 and 30 MOA.

Choosing a Rifle Scope

First or second focal plane

In a first focal plane (FFP) scope, the reticle grows and shrinks with magnification, so holdovers stay accurate at any power. That makes FFP the standard for precision and PRS. Second focal plane (SFP) reticles stay the same size, which many hunters prefer for a clean view.

MIL or MOA

Both work. What matters is that your turrets and reticle use the same unit, and that it matches how you and your shooting partners call corrections. MIL is most common in competition.

Magnification and objective

Lower power scopes are faster and lighter for hunting. Higher magnification helps you spot hits at distance. Larger objectives gather more light but sit higher and weigh more.

Mount it right

Match your scope's tube size to your rings, and put it on a solid rail. For extended range, a canted rail adds elevation your scope can use.

Optics FAQ

Do I need a rimfire-specific scope?

Not always, but it helps. Rimfire shooting often happens at shorter distances, so look for side focus or parallax adjustment that goes close enough for your ranges, like the Leupold VX Freedom Rimfire or an Athlon scope with side focus.

What scope works for NRL22?

Many NRL22 shooters run a first focal plane scope with a MIL or MOA reticle and side focus that adjusts close enough for rimfire distances, such as the Athlon Talos BTR or Argos BTR.

What size scope rings do I need?

Match the ring diameter to your scope's tube, usually 1 inch or 30mm, and choose a height that clears the objective bell and barrel while keeping a comfortable cheek weld.

How much magnification do I need?

For most hunting, 3-9x to 4-16x covers it. Rimfire and NRL22 shooters often run 4-14x to 6-24x. Long range and PRS shooters commonly use 5-25x or more. If you mostly shoot close and fast, look at our red dot sights.
