Red Dot Sights

A red dot puts your aiming point on the same plane as the target, so you can shoot with both eyes open and get on target fast. For rimfire pistols, carbines and competition guns, it is one of the biggest speed upgrades you can make. We carry red dots from the brands shooters trust most, including Holosun, Trijicon, Vortex, Aimpoint, Sig Sauer and EOTech, with open reflex, enclosed, tube and prism sights, plus the rails and mounts to put them on your gun.

Finish the Fast Gun

A dot makes you faster to the target. A crisp trigger and a precise bolt make every one of those fast shots count. Pair your red dot with a Volquartsen or TandemKross accurizing kit and you have the core of a rimfire race gun.

Choosing a Red Dot

Footprint and mounting

Pistol dots mount to a specific footprint or a rail. Most rimfire pistols need a Picatinny rail first, like the Ruger rail for the Mark IV or a DIP mount for the SW22. Rifles and carbines take a dot directly on a Picatinny rail or with a riser.

Open, tube or prism

Open reflex sights give the widest, fastest view and stay light. Tube dots protect the emitter and suit rifles. Prism sights use an etched reticle that stays visible even if the battery dies, and can add magnification.

Dot size and reticle

Smaller dots, around 2 MOA, are more precise at distance. Larger dots and circle-dot reticles are faster to pick up up close. Multi-reticle models let you switch.

Red or green, and battery

Many shooters find green easier to see in daylight. Shake Awake and long battery life ratings mean the dot is on when you need it.

Red Dot FAQ

Can I put a red dot on my Ruger Mark IV?

Yes. Mount a Picatinny rail, like the Ruger Mark III and IV rail, then attach a rail-mounted dot or a dot with a Picatinny mount.

Red or green dot?

Both work. Many shooters see green more easily in bright light, while red is the classic choice and can be easier on the battery.

What does Shake Awake do?

Shake Awake puts the sight to sleep when it sits still and turns it back on the moment it moves, saving battery without you having to switch it on.

Red dot or rifle scope?

A red dot is faster for close-range and pistol shooting. For precision and longer distances, look at our rifle scopes.
