Running a Stock on Your Hunting Rifle?

Not every rifle in the safe needs a chassis. When your hunting rifle stays in its factory or aftermarket stock, Pete's Pillars bedding pillars give it the solid, repeatable action support a chassis like XLR is known for.

Choosing Your XLR

Envy or Element

The Envy line is built for competition, with the weight and adjustability that help on barricades and props. The Element line keeps XLR's modular design in a lighter package for hunting and field use.

Buttstock options

XLR chassis accept a range of fixed, adjustable and folding buttstocks, so you can set length of pull and cheek height for your build.

Magazines

XLR centerfire chassis run AICS pattern magazines. Match the magazine to your action length and cartridge.

Finish the build

Pair your XLR with a match barrel, a trigger, a scope base and the right bipod.

XLR FAQ

Envy or Element?

Choose the Envy for competition and positional shooting. Choose the Element for a lighter field or hunting rifle with the same precision fit.

Do XLR chassis use AICS magazines?

XLR centerfire chassis are built around AICS pattern magazines. Each listing notes the magazine it accepts.

Do I need to bed my action in an XLR chassis?

No. The chassis has a machined bedding surface. Torque the action screws to the manufacturer's spec for consistent results.

Will my barrel fit an XLR chassis?

Most factory and common aftermarket contours fit, but very heavy contours may not clear every forend. Check the barrel channel notes before ordering.
