Chassis Adjustability. Rifle-Stock Feel.
The MDT XRS is built for shooters who want the fit and feel of a traditional rifle stock with the adjustability of a modern precision chassis. A full-length 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum core runs the length of the stock under textured polymer panels, with an aluminum V-block bedding system, an adjustable cheek piece, spacer-adjustable length of pull and a 12″ M-LOK forend. This is the Tikka T1x rimfire inlet in black.
The T1x is one of the best rimfire actions you can buy for the money, and a lot of them sit in a factory stock that gives up all of that potential. The XRS fixes the fit: cheek height to get your eye behind the scope, length of pull set to you instead of the average of everybody, V-block bedding under the action, and a forend with somewhere to mount a bipod. It still shoulders like a rifle stock, so it works for a walk in the woods and a match day both. About 3.9 lbs depending on inlet. Use it for: NRL22, rimfire steel, .22 trainers, small game and squirrel rifles, and teaching new shooters on a stock that actually fits them.
Fit You Can Dial In.
Length of pull adjusts with spacers from 13.25″ to 15″+, so the same rifle can fit you in a t-shirt and in a winter coat, or fit a kid now and still fit them in three years. The quick-adjust cheek piece sets scope height without tools, which matters most when you're switching between prone and awkward positional shooting. The grip is a replaceable overmolded system, and MDT includes both an angled and a vertical grip in the box, so you can decide which one suits your shooting without buying anything extra.
A 12″ M-LOK Forend to Build On.
The forend carries M-LOK slots along its length and accepts ARCA or Picatinny rail sections, so you choose the mounting standard instead of inheriting one. Add an ARCA rail for a Ckye-Pod, a barricade stop for stage work, bag-riding wings, or forend weight to settle the rifle down and keep the reticle from jumping. There's also an ambidextrous magazine latch, so left-handed shooters aren't working around the chassis.

Will it fit my rifle?
This is the Tikka T1x rimfire inlet. It is not a T3 or T3x chassis. If you're running a centerfire Tikka, you want the T3 / T3x XRS instead. See every XRS inlet we stock.
Does it come with both grips?
Yes. MDT includes both an angled grip and a vertical grip, and the grip system is replaceable. If you'd rather run something else, the MDT Elite pistol grip and our other rifle grips will bolt on.
How do I mount a bipod?
The 12″ forend is M-LOK and accepts ARCA or Picatinny rail sections, so bolt on an M-LOK ARCA rail and clamp an ARCA bipod like the Ckye-Pod Gen 3 Compact. Want full-length ARCA with no rail section to buy? That's the XRS Enclosed Forend.
Will it fit a bull barrel?
The XRS forend is built around heavier barrel profiles, but barrel channel clearance is worth confirming against your exact barrel before you order, especially on a rebarreled T1x. Reach out if you want us to check a specific contour for you.
XRS or Oryx for a T1x?
We only carry parts we trust, can stand behind and know are built with quality, so you're in good hands either way. The Oryx Sportsman is the simpler, more affordable aluminum chassis and it's a big step up from a factory stock. The XRS adds the full-length aluminum core, V-block bedding, more length-of-pull range and a longer M-LOK forend, so it's the one to buy if you're shooting matches or plan to keep adding to the rifle.
What scope works on a rimfire like this?
