AREA 419 ZERO GEN 2 RELOADING PRESS – STANDARD 7/8″ TURRET
The Area 419 ZERO Gen 2 is a hand-fitted, steel-and-aluminum precision reloading press with a 7/8″ ball-detent turret that indexes back to position with under .0005″ repeatability. A PTFE-lined bearing, precision-ground ram and bearing-guided linkage give you a smooth, consistent stroke from case sizing through seating, with capacity up to .338 Lapua Magnum. Made in Ohio.
In precision handloading, consistency starts at the press. Flex, slop and a turret that doesn't return to the same spot all show up as variation in shoulder bump and seating depth. The ZERO was built to remove those variables. Every press is hand-fitted, the ram rides in a custom-machined PTFE-lined bearing, and the linkage is assembled with near-zero play, so each stroke feels and measures the same. Use it for: precision rifle and PRS handloads, long-range hunting ammunition and any load where runout and shoulder bump matter.
Most handloaders start on a Hornady Lock-N-Load, Lee or RCBS Rock Chucker, and those presses load a lot of good ammunition. The ZERO is for the reloader who has outgrown them and is chasing the last bit of consistency. Your existing 7/8″-14 dies from Hornady, RCBS, Lee, Redding and Forster thread straight into the turret, so you can upgrade the press without replacing your die collection. Instead of a single-stage press with dies threaded in and out, or a turret that wobbles as it indexes, you get a hand-fitted ram and a ball-detent turret that returns to the same position every time.
Gen 2 adds a firmer linkage at the bottom of the stroke for positive cam-over, a smoother stroke out of the box, a detent-retained primer tray and a built-in torque tool storage slot. It remains compatible with Gen 1 accessories. Upgrading from Gen 1? Recheck your die adjustments after the switch, since the linkage geometry has changed.
Spent primers drop into an internal slide-out tray, held in place by a detent, so there are no hoses or jars to manage and your bench stays clean. The 4.4″ ram stroke and 4.75″ total opening handle everything from short-action match cartridges to .338 Lapua Magnum, with Cheytac-class cases possible with modification.
The standard 7/8″ turret accepts common reloading dies right out of the box. Running 1-1/4″ dies for big magnums? Area 419's 1-1/4″ adapter is sold separately. Browse more in our Area 419 collection.
Precision ammunition deserves a rifle that feeds it reliably. These MDT magazines cover the cartridges ZERO owners load most.
Building the rifle to match? See the lightweight MDT CRBN carbon fiber stock and the 5.7 oz MDT Mountain Bipod.
