The MDT XRS Enclosed Forend replaces your factory XRS Chassis System forend with an enclosed tube for added barrel protection, integral ARCA / RRS dovetail along its entire length, and additional M-LOK slots at the 10:30, 12 o'clock and 1:30 positions. It re-uses your existing XRS side panels and includes all required installation hardware.
The XRS is a lot of chassis for the money, and this forend is where you take it the rest of the way. Full-length ARCA means your bipod and your rear support slide anywhere along the forend instead of living in one spot, and the enclosed design puts aluminum between your barrel and whatever you set the rifle down on. The new top and upper-side M-LOK positions give you somewhere to hang weight, a light, or a night vision bridge. Use it for: PRS and NRL field matches, barricade and positional stages, night hunting, and any XRS build that's outgrown the open forend.
Full-Length ARCA, All the Way Out.
The ARCA / RRS dovetail is machined into the forend for its entire length, so your bipod clamps where the stage needs it rather than where a short rail section allows. Slide forward for a long barricade reach, back for a tight prone position, and move a rear bag rider or weight without unbolting anything. Built from 6061-T6 aluminum with a hard black anodized finish, and it clears barrel profiles up to 1.25″. Note that on a barrel that large, some M-LOK accessories may interfere.
Three New M-LOK Positions.
Beyond the ARCA, this forend adds M-LOK slots at 10:30, 12 o'clock and 1:30. That top interface was designed with night vision in mind: it will co-witness an M-LOK Picatinny rail at 20 MOA with the MDT High Scope Base (Remington 700 inlets only). For daylight work, those same slots are the easiest place on the rifle to add tuning weight out front, where it does the most for your balance and recoil tracking.

Will it fit my XRS?
Yes. This forend is compatible with all MDT XRS Chassis Systems, regardless of action inlet. See every XRS chassis we stock.
Do I need new side panels?
No. It re-uses your existing XRS forend side panels, so your current color and finish carry straight over. All required installation hardware is included.
What barrel size will it clear?
Up to a 1.25″ barrel profile. At that diameter, be aware that M-LOK accessories may interfere with the barrel, so plan your accessory placement accordingly.
Can I still use the XRS Forend Weight?
Yes. The MDT XRS Forend Weight is compatible with this forend. You can also add weight through the new M-LOK slots with our 12.3 oz M-LOK forend weights or 6 oz mini weights.
What does the 20 MOA night vision co-witness mean?
The top M-LOK interface was designed so that an M-LOK Picatinny rail section mounted up there lines up at 20 MOA with the MDT High Scope Base, which lets a clip-on night vision unit sit in front of the scope on the same plane. This applies to Remington 700 inlets only. Browse our scope bases.
Why go enclosed instead of keeping the open forend?
Two reasons. The enclosed tube puts aluminum around the barrel, which protects it when you're working barricades, fences and rocks. And the full-length ARCA plus the new M-LOK slots give you far more places to mount a bipod, a weight, a bag rider or a light than the factory forend does.
Does Pete's Pillars sell more than MDT accessories?
