Replace the factory-style bolt buffer in your Ruger 10/22 with a Pete's Pillars Viton and stainless steel bolt buffer.
Designed for the Ruger 10/22 platform, the buffer combines a resilient Viton outer sleeve with a stainless steel center pin to help cushion rearward bolt impact and reduce the sharp mechanical action noise produced during cycling.
This listing includes one complete bolt buffer—ideal for upgrading or servicing a single rifle.
The bolt buffer sits at the rear of the receiver and stops the bolt at the end of its rearward travel. Replacing the rigid factory-style buffer with a resilient Viton design provides a softer contact point inside the action.
When a suppressor reduces muzzle report, the mechanical sounds of the rifle action can become much more noticeable.
A resilient bolt buffer helps reduce the sharp impact at the rear of the receiver, making it a particularly useful small upgrade for suppressed Ruger 10/22 builds.
Designed as a replacement for the standard Ruger 10/22 bolt buffer and Ruger B46-style buffer location.
It is also compatible with many aftermarket 10/22-pattern receivers that retain the standard Ruger-style bolt buffer arrangement, including many KIDD and Volquartsen configurations.
Receiver dimensions can vary slightly between manufacturers, so installed fit may differ from one receiver to another.
Browse additional components on our Ruger 10/22 Parts & Upgrades page.
Each buffer consists of a Viton sleeve and separate stainless steel center pin. The two-piece design makes installation through the receiver easier.
The stainless steel center pin is intentionally a close fit inside the Viton sleeve after installation.
If you're servicing several rifles or want spares for the workbench, our multi-packs offer the same Viton and stainless construction in larger quantities:
Our Pete's Pillars P7643-BLK Bolt Buffer & Trigger Pin Kit combines one Viton bolt buffer with two close-tolerance stainless steel trigger assembly pins for a more complete single-rifle action upgrade.
Ruger and aftermarket receivers can vary slightly in dimensions, and Viton material also has normal manufacturing tolerances. As a result, an installed buffer may fit slightly tighter or looser from one receiver to another.
Small differences in appearance or installed fit do not affect the intended function of the buffer.
Not intended for magnum-caliber applications.
