PETE'S PILLARS | PRECISION RIFLE BEDDING

Anschutz Accuracy Starts with a Solid Foundation.

The rifle deserves a bedding job that matches its precision. Pete's Pillars Anschutz Competition Pillar Kit pairs our USA-machined, profiled 6061 aluminum bedding pillars with premium bedding epoxy, giving builders the essential materials for a strong, consistent action-to-stock foundation.

Precision rifles reward attention to the details you cannot always see. Beneath the Anschutz action, a well-executed bedding job creates the stable support that helps preserve the relationship between the action, stock, and action screw tension. Our Competition pillar kit puts that foundation in the hands of target shooters, dedicated rimfire enthusiasts, and gunsmiths who take their bedding work seriously.

Pete's Pillars manufactures these pillars in the USA from 6061 billet air craft grade aluminum, with a substantial 1/2-inch outside diameter and our deeply profiled exterior. The grooves provide more surface for the epoxy to engage, helping lock each pillar firmly into its finished bedding position. Rigid aluminum support helps resist stock compression and contributes to the consistent, repeatable assembly that accurate rifles deserve.

Competition Pillars. Premium Epoxy. One Serious Bedding Job.

Every Competition pillar is supplied at approximately 1.5 inches long so the installer can trim it to the proper length for the rifle and stock. That's the freedom custom bedding work calls for: precision-machined components, sized and finished for the individual build.

With premium bedding epoxy included (brand may vary), this configuration keeps the core materials together. From revitalizing a favorite Anschutz target rifle to bedding an aftermarket stock for the next precision rimfire project, it's a practical way to build a stable foundation without a separate epoxy purchase.

Find the Right Pete's Pillars Fit for Your Stock

Prefer to supply your own bedding compound? Choose our Anschutz Competition Pillar Kit without Epoxy. If your stock calls for a smaller pillar footprint, we also manufacture an Anschutz SlimLine Pillar Kit with Epoxy and an Anschutz SlimLine Pillar Kit without Epoxy. Both Competition and SlimLine receive the same careful USA machining and profiled exterior design; the installer chooses the dimensions that work best for the stock.

For broader custom-stock projects, explore our Competition Gunsmith Pillar Kit with Epoxy, or see how all three pillar families come together in the Pete's Pillars Bedding Collection. We build Competition, SlimLine, and LargeBore components for shooters who want to do the bedding job right, whether the rifle is rimfire or centerfire.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about Anschutz pillar bedding, epoxy, dimensions, and choosing your kit.

Are these pillars contoured to the action?

No. Our pillars have a flat, square seating face. We've found the best bedding results come from letting the epoxy form a custom-mated surface between the pillar and the individual rifle action. The square face gives the bedding compound the foundation to do exactly that. The pillar's exterior is separately profiled to help lock it into the stock.

What is the difference between Competition and SlimLine pillars?

Competition pillars have a nominal 1/2-inch outside diameter, while SlimLine pillars feature a slimmer 7/16-inch outside diameter for stocks where a smaller footprint is preferred. Both are USA-machined to the same exacting standards and built for an excellent bedding job. The right choice depends on the stock and the installer's preference.

Does this Anschutz kit include bedding epoxy?

Yes. This kit includes our Competition aluminum pillar pair and premium bedding epoxy, so you can order the pillars and bedding compound together. We select epoxy from quality bedding brands, and the exact brand may vary with availability.

Do I need to trim the pillars during installation?

Yes. Competition pillars are supplied approximately 1.5 inches long and are trimmed to fit the stock and action during bedding. That gives the installer control over the finished pillar length and fit, whether the project uses a factory stock or an aftermarket stock.

Why does Pete's Pillars machine grooves into the exterior?

The profiled exterior gives the bedding epoxy more surface to grip and helps form a strong mechanical lock inside the stock. It's a signature detail of our Competition, SlimLine, and LargeBore designs—small machining details that matter in a finished bedding job.

Will these work with an aftermarket Anschutz stock?

They're made for Anschutz pillar bedding projects, including suitable aftermarket-stock installations. As with any custom bedding job, the installer sets the final pillar length and prepares the stock for the chosen pillar diameter. That flexibility is why we supply them trim-to-fit.

What does pillar bedding do for an Anschutz rifle?

Pillar bedding gives the action screws a rigid aluminum support structure instead of relying on compressible stock material alone. It helps maintain a consistent action-to-stock interface through repeated tightening and reassembly—an important foundation when you're chasing precise, repeatable groups from an Anschutz.

Small Change. Big Impact. Pete's Pillars.
