The signature of the SlimLine design is its nominal 7/16-inch outside diameter. That compact footprint is especially valuable when bedding a narrower stock inlet or when you want to preserve more surrounding stock material. We machine each SlimLine pillar from aircraft-spec 6061 billet aluminum, with pronounced exterior grooves that give bedding epoxy more surfaces for mechanical engagement. Once bedded, the pillars establish solid support around the action screw locations while the epoxy locks the assembly into the stock.
Each pillar is supplied at approximately 1.25 inches long and trimmed during fitting to match the individual Anschutz stock. No. Our pillars have a flat, square seating face. We've found the best bedding results come from allowing the epoxy to form a custom-mated surface between the pillar and the individual Anschutz action. The square face makes room for that precise fit, while the deeply profiled exterior helps lock the pillar into the stock.
What is the difference between SlimLine and Competition pillars?
SlimLine pillars use a 7/16-inch outside diameter, while Competition pillars feature a 1/2-inch outside diameter. SlimLine is an excellent choice when the stock calls for a smaller footprint; Competition offers a wider profile where there's room. Both are CNC-machined in the USA from aircraft-spec billet aluminum to the same exacting standards. Choose what suits your stock and your bedding style.
Will SlimLine pillars help with a stock that has limited material around the screw holes?
That's exactly where the SlimLine profile shines. Its 7/16-inch diameter allows a smaller opening than our 1/2-inch Competition design, leaving more surrounding stock material for the bedding job. You still get the same profiled exterior and precise USA machining Pete's Pillars is known for.
Do these Anschutz SlimLine pillars need to be trimmed?
Yes. Each pillar comes approximately 1.25 inches long, ready for the installer to trim to the finished length of the stock and action. That gives you control over the final bedding fit rather than making you work around a fixed length.
Does this kit include bedding epoxy or action screws?
This configuration includes a pair of SlimLine aluminum bedding pillars. Use your preferred bedding compound and existing compatible action hardware. If you'd rather get the bedding compound with the kit, our Anschutz SlimLine Pillar Kit with Epoxy includes premium bedding epoxy.
