MDT ORYX SAVAGE 110 SHORT ACTION CHASSIS – FLAT DARK EARTH
Desert-ready earth tone.
The MDT Oryx Sportsman Chassis for the Savage 110 short action in Flat Dark Earth turns a factory Savage into a modern precision rifle. Machined from 6061 aluminum as a one-piece chassis and buttstock, it drops in with no gunsmithing, free-floats barrels up to 1.25 inches and accepts AICS detachable magazines.
The Oryx is one of the most popular ways to upgrade a factory bolt gun because it fixes what holds most hunting stocks back. The rigid aluminum chassis locks the action in place and free-floats the barrel, so accuracy stays consistent as temperature and conditions change. Overmolded grip and forend panels keep it comfortable in the cold, and the AICS magazine system makes loading fast and quiet.
It's equally at home on a hunting rifle, a long-range setup or a PRS-style practice gun. Start with a capable, free-floated chassis, then add only what you need as your rifle evolves: ARCA, weights, sling mounts or tool-less adjustments.
The Flat Dark Earth Finish.
Flat Dark Earth blends naturally into open plains, desert terrain, dry grass and late-season fields, and it pairs well with tan and coyote gear.
Drop-In Accuracy for Your Savage.
The action interface is designed specifically for the Savage 110 short action to hold the action solid, and installation is drop-in. The overmolded pistol grip is contoured for a range of hand sizes, the adjustable cheek riser helps you get a proper cheek weld behind any scope, and a rubber overmolded buttpad with a spacer lets you tune length of pull. The barrel channel clears barrels up to 1.25 inches, and the chassis accepts AR-15 standard and vertical grips if you prefer a different feel. M-LOK slots on the forend accept sling mounts, bipods and optional side panels, and MDT's Tool-Less Cheek Riser Wheels let you adjust cheek height in the field without a wrench.
Make It Yours with Pete's Pillars Oryx Upgrades.
We design and machine Oryx upgrades in the USA. The Pete's Pillars Full-Length ARCA Rail for MDT Oryx adds a continuous ARCA surface for bipod and tripod placement anywhere along the forend, with integrated QD sling cups. Our Pete's Pillars Oryx Rear Buttstock Weight adds two side QD sling cups, freeing the bottom-rear M-LOK slot for a bag rider, and adds a net 5.4 oz of rear weight for better balance and recoil control. Up front, our Pete's Pillars M-LOK Exterior Forend Weights help settle the rifle on the bags.
Magazines are your choice. We carry the MDT AICS Polymer 10-Round, the MDT AICS Polymer 5-Round and the slim MDT AICS SA Flush-Mount 3-Round for a clean hunting profile. Finish the build with an ARCA bipod like the MDT Ckye-Pod Gen3 Compact, the M-LOK MDT GRND-POD and MDT Premier 34mm Scope Rings.
