It arrives ready to run with an Exact Edge Extractor, SureStrike Firing Pin, recoil rod and three recoil springs—a complete bolt upgrade for the Ruger MK II, MK III and MK IV. Made in USA.
The bolt is where a rimfire pistol does its hardest work: chambering, extracting and ejecting round after round with dirty, inconsistent .22 ammunition. Volquartsen's Competition Bolt is built for exactly that job. Precision machining and grinding deliver tight fit and finish, while case hardening and a DLC treatment produce a hard, slick surface with excellent wear resistance and reduced friction. For high-round-count practice and steel matches, that means a bolt that cycles smoothly and keeps running.
Extractor, Firing Pin and Springs Included.
Volquartsen doesn't ship a bare bolt. The Competition Bolt comes with the Exact Edge Extractor and SureStrike Firing Pin, engineered for more positive extraction and consistent ignition, plus a recoil rod with a standard-rate spring installed, a reduced-power spring and a heavy spring. Three spring rates let you tune the action to your ammunition, from lighter target loads to hotter high-velocity rounds. Because the extractor and firing pin are already included, there's no need to buy a separate Bolt Tune-Up Kit.
Complete the Build.
The bolt pairs naturally with a Volquartsen trigger upgrade. MK IV owners can choose the MK IV Accurizing Kit with Black Target Trigger, the MK IV Accurizing Kit with Stainless Target Trigger, or a complete Competition Kit such as the MK IV Competition Kit with Gold Target Trigger or Gold 19.22 Flat Trigger Competition Kit. No. The Exact Edge Extractor and SureStrike Firing Pin from the Bolt Tune-Up Kit are already included with the Competition Bolt.
