Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor for Ruger 10/22 & Mark Series – VC10EE
Upgrade one of the most important components in your rimfire action with the Volquartsen VC10EE Exact Edge Extractor.
Designed for the Ruger 10/22 as well as compatible Ruger MKII, MKIII and MK IV pistols, the Exact Edge Extractor is wire-EDM machined from hardened A2 tool steel for a precise hook profile and long-term edge retention.
Wire-EDM Machined A2 Tool Steel
Volquartsen manufactures the Exact Edge Extractor from A2 tool steel using a wire EDM process. This allows the extractor hook and working surfaces to be produced with precise geometry rather than relying on a stamped profile.
The extractor is hardened to approximately Rc 54–56, helping the hook maintain its working edge through repeated cycling.

Designed for Positive Extraction
The Exact Edge design uses a sharper, more precisely formed hook to maintain positive contact with the cartridge rim as the spent case travels rearward toward the ejector.
A worn or rounded extractor edge can contribute to failures to extract and stovepipes. The hardened A2 tool-steel construction is designed to resist the edge deformation that can develop through repeated use.
The Beveled Edge Is Intentional
The small bevel or radius visible on the lower edge of the VC10EE is part of the Volquartsen design and is not a machining defect.
Volquartsen machines this area specifically to help prevent the lower edge of the extractor from interfering with the next cartridge as it feeds upward from the magazine.
