The MDT Oryx 104226-FDE gives the Savage Axis Short Action a rigid, adjustable chassis platform for hunting, long-range shooting, positional practice, and PRS-style competition.
For shooters who want more capability from the Savage Axis platform, the Oryx replaces the conventional factory stock with an aluminum chassis system featuring adjustable ergonomics, AICS-pattern magazine compatibility, and modern accessory mounting.

A Better Foundation for the Savage Axis
The Savage Axis is a practical starting point for a hunting or precision rifle, and the Oryx gives the action a more rigid and configurable foundation.
The adjustable cheekpiece and length of pull help establish a repeatable position behind the rifle, while the M-LOK forend provides mounting space for bipods, rails, weights, sling hardware, and other accessories.
- Rigid aluminum chassis construction
- Adjustable cheekpiece
- Adjustable length of pull
- M-LOK accessory mounting
- AICS-pattern magazine compatibility
- Ambidextrous magazine release
- Integrated barricade-style magwell
- Interchangeable grip design
Built for PRS & Positional Shooting
The Oryx gives the Savage Axis the features needed to move beyond a basic sporting stock and into practical precision shooting.
The flatter forend works well from bags and barricades, while the M-LOK interface allows the rifle to be configured around bipods, ARCA rails, chassis weights, and other equipment commonly used in positional shooting.
A full-length ARCA rail can take the platform further for tripod work, barricade stages, and changing support positions.
Still Practical for Hunting & Long-Range Use
The Oryx does not have to become a dedicated competition rifle.
For hunters and long-range shooters, the adjustable cheekpiece helps establish consistent alignment behind an optic, while the M-LOK forend provides practical mounting points for a bipod, sling, and other field accessories.
The Flat Dark Earth finish fits naturally on a field-oriented rifle while retaining the same chassis capability used in more competition-focused builds.
