MDT | AICS SHORT ACTION MAGAZINES
Steel-Tough Feeding for Your Short Action.
The MDT AICS Metal Magazine holds 10 rounds of .308 Win or 6.5 Creedmoor in a high-strength steel body, nitride-finished and coated with Cerakote Elite for corrosion resistance. With its front binder plate installed, it's a durable, match-ready magazine for AICS-pattern chassis and bottom metal.
A magazine is one of the most overlooked parts of a precision rifle, until it fails to feed on the clock. MDT built its metal AICS magazines for shooters who demand consistent feeding round after round, whether in a PRS match, at the range or in the field. The steel body stands up to drops, abuse and years of use, and the protective finish keeps it working in wet and dirty conditions.
Built for AICS Chassis and Bottom Metal.
This magazine fits AICS-pattern chassis systems and bottom metal, plus short-action rifles with an AICS magazine well. It comes with the front binder plate installed, which supports a maximum cartridge overall length of 2.870 inches for .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor. The binder plate can be removed to extend maximum COAL to 2.960 inches for handloaders seating bullets long.
Prefer a lighter magazine? MDT's polymer AICS magazines come in a 10-round, 5-round and low-profile flush-mount 3-round version for slim hunting rifles, and we also carry the Magpul AICS 5-Round SA Magazine. Shooting 6mm BR? Choose the MDT Metal SA 6BR 12-Round Magazine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Compatibility, cartridge length and choosing the right AICS magazine.
What does it fit?
It fits AICS-pattern short action chassis systems and bottom metal, as well as short-action rifles with an AICS magazine well. It does not fit CIP-length magazine wells.
What is the binder plate for?
The front binder plate sets the maximum cartridge overall length at 2.870 inches for .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor. Removing it extends maximum COAL to 2.960 inches for longer-seated handloads.
Which calibers can I run in it?
This version is built for .308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor and other cartridges sharing that case head and length.
Will it feed in my Remington 700?
In AICS-pattern chassis and bottom metal, yes. Some Remington 700 and Savage 10/11 actions may need the feed ramp notched so cartridge tips don't catch; a gunsmith can check this quickly.
Should I choose metal or polymer?
Choose metal for maximum durability in hard use. MDT's polymer magazines, like the 10-round polymer AICS, are lighter and very popular with hunters.
Is there a lower-profile option for hunting?
How is it finished?
The steel body is nitride-finished and coated with Cerakote Elite for strong corrosion and wear resistance.
