The MDT DRT – Dead Right There Chassis System is a purpose-built lightweight chassis for Remington 700-pattern short-action clone receivers, designed around modern hunting, field shooting, tripod use, and night vision or thermal setups.
The 115750-BLK combines a magnesium chassis and folding buttstock with an aluminum NV bridge and full-length ARCA rail, titanium hardware, and a carbon fiber vertical grip. Complete system weight is approximately 3.2 lbs / 51.2 oz.
MDT designed the DRT specifically around the additional equipment commonly used on modern night-hunting and field rifles. Instead of adding a separate bridge system to an existing chassis, the DRT incorporates the mounting structure directly into the platform.
The included Type III hard-anodized aluminum NV bridge provides a rigid mounting surface for compatible clip-on thermal and night vision devices, while the full-length ARCA interface provides extensive tripod and support-equipment mounting options.
The DRT uses a magnesium chassis body and buttstock to reduce overall system weight while maintaining the rigidity needed for supported shooting positions.
At approximately 3.2 pounds, the complete chassis is designed to balance portability with the structure needed for bipods, tripods, bags, clip-on optics, and other field equipment.
The DRT incorporates a folding buttstock with adjustable friction retention, allowing the rifle to be shortened for transport and storage.
The buttstock also provides:
The DRT's aluminum ARCA rail provides a continuous mounting surface for compatible tripods, bipods, and field-support equipment.
Additional M-LOK mounting locations allow accessories to be positioned around the forend without requiring additional adapter systems or excessive added weight.
MDT also built adjustment into the magazine interface. The DRT includes an adjustable magazine latch along with a magazine-release locking feature designed to reduce the chance of accidental magazine release during movement.
The chassis uses compatible AICS-pattern short-action magazines.
This chassis is designed specifically for Remington 700-pattern short-action clone receivers with an integral recoil lug measuring less than 3/8" tall.
Examples identified by MDT include:
Factory Remington 700 and Bergara actions are not direct-fit applications unless the recoil lug is modified.
Because custom Remington 700-pattern actions vary, always verify recoil-lug dimensions and action compatibility before ordering.
