A 20 MOA scope rail introduces approximately one-third of a degree of forward inclination into the optics mounting system. This allows shooters to access more of their riflescope's available elevation adjustment when compensating for bullet drop at extended distances.
Compared with a flat 0 MOA rail, a 20 MOA base can be especially useful when using precision riflescopes with exposed elevation turrets.
Important: A canted rail does not increase the scope's total adjustment range. Actual available elevation and the ability to establish a close-range zero depend on the riflescope and overall mounting configuration.
