This is a Remington 581, 580, 582, 540, 541, 540x Pillar Kit
Included is a pillar for the main action screw, and a pillar for any second or rear actions screw you may have or you may have installed.
It is tailored for the 581 and similar, but will also work for other Remington rifles listed with modification.
A second action screw can also be installed in the rear of the trigger guard but it must be drilled and tapped at the action and required more modification to the firearm to work. Please be aware of this before ordering.
The rear action pillar will only properly work for up to a .319
For an additional charge I can profile the outside of the pillars to give the epoxy something to bite in to. I find this unnecessary however, as I have never had an issue with smooth pillars pulling out. Simply scuff up the exterior with some sand paper prior to installation and be sure to degrease.
Pillar installation assists in accuracy as it prevents crushing of the stock and prevent stress cracks. Pillars also keep the action from twisting or moving. Consistency is key in accuracy.
The pillars are 1/2'' (.4995) in diameter and made of T6 6061 aluminum. These pillars are left
long so that they can be trimmed to length by the installer, depending on the specific stock that you have. If the pillars are cut too short they will not do their job. The threaded rod is used to assist in placing the pillars and cutting to them to length.
This a DIY kit. In order to utilize this kit you must drill out the stock, and "glue" these into place. Final fit and finish will need to be done during installation. A chamfer may be required on the bottom inner diameter of the pillars to allow for action screw fitment. A drill press is recommended.

I have other pillars that will fit other actions such as the Remington 700, cz 527,
May fit other rifles that are rimfire, such as ruger, 10/22, savage, anshutz, winchester and the like but I cannot be certain.
